• Your directory provides a new source of income for your church. Listings in the directory (Unity in Business Network memberships) are sold for $10.42/month, with a one-year minimum fee of $125. For each membership sold to a member, congregant or vendor who identifies your church as his/her spiritual home, Friends of Ministry will return $40 to your church. (Through March 31, the tithe back to your church is $100 per new or renewing member.)

• The online directory provides a way for your congregants to do business with each other off church property, where members’ business networking and solicitation can create ethical and liability issues for the church. Having an online business directory also allows the church to eliminate bulletin boards devoted to congregants’ business advertising and to refer congregants to the online directory, from which the church will receive income.

• The church receives an always up-to-date business directory without having to commit the considerable human and financial resources needed to produce a printed directory, which is typically expensive to print and becomes outdated very quickly.

• Because it is available 24/7 and always up-to-date, the online business directory provides the church with a variety of possible vendors whenever the church needs a specific product or service (such as new flooring, carpet cleaning, printing, etc.).

• The directory appears as a link on the church’s website and as a dedicated web page, although it is hosted at www.UnityinBusiness.net.

• Through the presence of its business directory at www.UnityInBusiness.net, the church effectively doubles its internet exposure. The church’s name, contact information, Sunday service times, MapQuest link, and website and email addresses are prominently featured at www.UnityInBusiness.net.

• Unity church members and congregants who are in business often seek new customers by posting their business cards on church bulletin boards; leaving business cards and brochures on church property; advertising in church newsletters; participating in church business fairs; and buying space in church business directories. All of these activities suggest a strong desire to connect on a professional level with like-minded people. Your church’s online business directory supports your congregants in their desire to connect in business with others who share their values.

• The online Unity in Business Network offers Unity people in business a new and much more appropriate and effective way to reach their prospects. By participating as a network member, Unity people will be able to reach not only people in their own Unity community, but prospects in many Unity communities. While Friends of Ministry seeks first to develop online church business directories with Unity churches it has served or is now serving ~ approximately 40 ~ we eventually will offer online business directory development to all Unity churches.

• The online Unity in Business Network offers sole proprietors and small businesses a very affordable way to reach like-minded prospects and to join a community of people who, by virtue of their participation, share the value of using Truth principles in the workplace. (Please note: Business people who desire a higher profile in the network may have opportunities to purchase ad space at additional cost. Because of the cost of developing, posting and hosting special ads, Friends of Ministry will retain all funds for such "add-on" purchases with memberships.)

• As the internet, Friends of Ministry, and the ministries of Unity churches are constantly evolving, additional benefits to network members and participating churches are sure to manifest. For example, the network may sponsor or help create church business fairs or regional business fairs and workshops. Churches and/or network members may have opportunities to sponsor and/or participate in future Spirit at Work meetings or special events.

• Designate a board or staff member or volunteer as the church’s representative for the directory.

• Keep a poster (which we will provide) about the directory posted on a church bulletin board.

• Insert a flyer or brochure in the church’s Sunday bulletin quarterly. We will provide a flyer or brochure to copy.

• Announce the church’s participation in the directory at Sunday services and in emails to members.

• Include a link (which we will provide) from your church’s website to your new online directory.

• Include reminders about the opportunity to advertise in the directory in your church newsletter. Example: Visit our online business directory. Connect with like-minded people in business at www.UnityInBusiness.net, or use the link on our website to find Unity people in business.

• Consider mailing post cards (inviting participation in your online business directory) to business people in your church. Friends of Ministry provides the post cards; all your volunteer needs to do is address and stamp them.
